Looking forward to New Years Eve in Lloret and the best nightlife venues for miles around  are all getting ready for the biggest party night of the year. 

Here are just a few of the biggest clubs in town which will be hosting massive parties to celebrate the New Year!

A curb on Lloret's nightlife

The town council of Lloret have approved a package of measures to be put in place which they hope will give a better image of Lloret and improve public safety. Some of the new measures which aim to increase prosecution for the type of antisocial behaviour seen this year, will be in force before the new 2012 holiday season. A curb on the club to club tours often organised by travel companies for the younger groups of holidaymakers will be put in place and also a ban on propaganda leaflets/cards etc. Tour operators will be asked to not give out the wrong impression about Lloret de Mar ie: that Lloret is the type of place where anything goes image. Promoting alcohol sales by giving 2 for 1 offers and 'happy hours' in the bars and clubs will also be banned, closing times will be regulated. Some surveillance cameras will be erected in the nightclub area to help keep a watch on the late night crowds.

Let's hope these new measures do help to make Lloret a better place for all, but let's not also forget that business managers and owners do still have a living to make and in these difficult times do not need more restrictions on top of the ones already in place. Who ever heard of a business that cannot promote their premises and products they sell!

Your invited to 'Arrieta 32' down on the sea front in Lloret tomorrow night at 10pm to watch R. Madrid & Barcelona....better be early to get your seat, it looks as though they are advising everyone to phone and book their table! 

El Pub

Latest news this week is that most of the bars are now trying to sort out their Xmas opening hours. I have opening times of some of the bars.
El Pub Su & Flick have worked very hard this year and have had a very successful year since they opened the bar back in April. They are now taking a short Xmas break, so will close on 20th Dec and re-open @ 5pm on 29th Dec, and from then on will be opening as normal 1pm till late.

Pub news of the week -

 Sadly this year we have seen the closure of 2 of the most well known bars in Lloret, the first to close its doors earlier this year was the Seven Seas run by Willie, and just last month Haken & Cathrine have also closed the doors on the White Horse. They have gone back to Sweden until Christmas but will be back here for Christmas and the New Year after which they intend to take a trip further down the coast to the Peniscola area of Spain to look at possibilities of opening a bar there...so good luck to them l hope they do well in whatever they do. I'm pleased to say we did manage to find a good home for their family of budgies before they left!
